Tolerances
Plunger keys are precision parts. A worn or off-spec key will deform the plunger pin and ruin the lock — once damaged, the lock has to be replaced.
Buying
Buy from a source that lists the manufacturer and material. If the listing doesn't say what the key is made of, walk away.
